@DragonArrow2010 You've helped a lot by telling me it's faithful to the play (though I have to wonder about the musical number!). I have taught Shakespeare to native speakers of English and even they struggle with it because the culture has changed in five hundred years! I may sit down with the play and your videos and see what I can figure out. Even though I don't speak Japanese and have only a little knowledge of the culture, I have a a chance.
I realize it's vaguely silly to ask for subtitles on *Hamlet*, but I understand the director has taken some liberties with the source material. Any idea where I could get subs for this? Fansubs?

@DragonArrow2010 One scene is clearly different. "To be or not to be" is a dialogue here instead of a monologue. What is the older man saying?
